This presentation showcases a dynamic ESL program tailored to Muslim women speakers of Arabic, Dari, and Bengali, focusing on conversational and writing skills for real-world applications. By incorporating culturally relevant materials and fostering inclusive practices, this program not only equips learners with language proficiency for everyday life but also supports their career aspirations, and comfort in their new environments. The program leverages surveys to identify specific needs and wants and utilizes AI to uncover unique challenges faced by these learners. Materials are then tailored to address these needs in a culturally relevant and enjoyable way. Additionally, this formula for the class can be tailored to any age group, socioeconomic background, topic, or context, making it highly versatile. Participants will explore strategies for engaging diverse learners, building bridges between language learning, professional opportunities, and everyday life in a new setting while adapting this successful model for various contexts. This approach emphasizes communication, cultural understanding, and connections to real-world applications. Attendees will also leave with the formula used by the presenter, including a guide to using AI for creating scopes and sequences, surveys, language models, and exercises, as well as the outline of the presented ESL class and instructions on adapting it to various levels, contexts, cultures, linguistic challenges, and age groups that can be used as a model for their own classrooms and programs.
